Making wine more inclusive and accessible

Today, on the Cassandra Podcast we hear from Maryam Ahmed, President and CEO of the creative consulting agency Maryam Company. Maryam talks about her work curating experiences in the food and wine category, and in particular making wine more accessible to a younger and more diverse consumer. Much of Maryam’s work is centered around diversity in the wine industry. In Cassandra’s recent Race & Activism report, we noted that 92% of Trendsetters say they’ve become more self aware around issues of race and inequality in the past year, along with 8 out of 10 Millennials and GenZs. Maryam discusses how this awareness translates into what she sees in the category. In addition, Maryam talks about the future of socialization post-pandemic, and where some alcohol trends may change.
