BUBBLES ON THE ROCKS

Brands craft ready-to-drink sparkling tequila beverages

Given the rise of hard seltzer and canned wine, the recent proliferation of other ready-to-drink (RTD) alcoholic beverages comes as no surprise. The following brands are introducing tequila-infused sparkling beverages, vying for a stake in the RTD beverage market as well as a spot in young consumers’ refrigerators.

TWO CHICKS

Two Chicks Cocktails, which totes beautifully designed cans and lovingly mixed ingredients, is a boutique craft cocktail brand created, owned, and run by women. The craft beverage brand recently made its debut with three sparkling drinks: a sparkling tequila and citrus margarita, a sparkling grapefruit and tequila paloma, and an elderflower vodka fizz. Each can of Two Chicks features intricate botanical designs and is made with natural, refreshing ingredients. Two Chicks’ ultimate goal is to champion inclusivity and connect and empower women, while also providing consumers with a delicious low-calorie, low-alcohol beverage option.

AZULANA

Produced in Guadalajara, Mexico, the birthplace of tequila, Azulana honors the spirit’s long, rich history. The brand's sparkling tequila beverage is crafted with blue agave tequila and sweetened with agave to deliver a quality cocktail in the convenience of a 12-ounce can. Not only are ingredients locally sourced, but Azulana is also locally produced, manufactured, and distributed, enriching the local economy and paying tribute to tequila’s heritage. Each can of Azulana contains 4.3% ABV and retails at $13.99 per 4-pack. Beyond serving a rapidly growing alcohol and spirits market, Azulana reinvests 5% of its profits into local charities—a move which will find favor among conscientious modern consumers.

SAUZA AGUA FUERTE

Modern consumers are increasingly seeking out healthier food and beverage options and are turning to alternatives like Agua Fuerte to quench their thirst. Sauza Tequila launched its first ready-to-drink tequila-spiked sparkling water, Agua Fuerte (which translates to “strong water”), back in the summer of 2018. The refreshing beverages are made with Sauza Silver tequila and come in four fruity flavors: lime, grapefruit, pineapple, and mango. The tequila brand’s slim 12-ounce cans contain 5% ABV, no artificial ingredients, and are lower in calorie than your average tequila cocktail.
