HAPPILY AVO AFTER

An old Millennial favorite is up to some new tricks, in some new treats

It’s well into 2020, but even amongst all of this year’s upheaval the trusty avocado still persists in trending. Check out the following foods and beverages, which incorporate this high-fiber and healthy fat-filled fruit in interesting and innovative ways.

COMPARTÉS’ AVOCADO & CHIPS CHOCOLATE BAR, WITH SIETE’S GRAIN-FREE DIP CHIPS

Renowned artisanal chocolatier Compartés and Siete Family Foods teamed up on a highly-unique and sweet-yet-salty collaboration that is sure to tickle avocado fans. Compartés revamped its Avocado Chocolate Bar, made from white chocolate and actual avocados, with Siete’s paleo and grain-free Dip Chips for an unexpected yet utterly delicious flavor twist. To set this bar apart from past iterations, Compartés doubled the amount of avocado in the chocolate for an even creamier texture and folded in Siete’s chips for an extra crunch. This Avocado & Chips Chocolate Bar is now available for purchase on Compartés’ website for $9.95.

AVOCADOMILK

Avocadomilk, a non-dairy milk made with freeze-dried avocados and oats, launched in the U.S. just last month. The brand was already sold in Australia and New Zealand, but the version now available in the U.S. has a “fully vegan” formula (a previous iteration contained honey). Not only does Avocadomilk maintain the nutritional integrity of the avocado in its recipe, but the process of making the milk uses avocados that, for aesthetic reasons, don’t make it to grocery stores and would instead end up as food waste.

CADO’S AVOCADO ICE CREAM

According to Forbes, Cado is a leader in the avocado-based ice cream arena, which is apparently not as niche a category as it sounds. The creaminess and fattiness of the fruit works nicely as an ice cream base, and Cado combines avocado puree, avocado oil, and organic cane sugar or cassava syrup to make this icy, sweet product. The brand offers seven flavors of its avocado-based ice cream (including a deep dark chocolate and a mint chip), and recently debuted a gluten-free cookies and cream option as well.
