IT’S BEGINNING TO LOOK A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS
Food brands launch holiday merch
Certain brands are so beloved because they tap into modern youth’s sense of nostalgia and are consistent even during times of change. The following food brands are catering to their fandoms by launching holiday-themed merch just in time for the holidays, which offers young people another branded touchpoint into the food and beverage category.
Along with the release of their holiday drink menu, Dunkin’ launched an online pop-up shop featuring a full line of branded holiday merch. The online store (which is currently sold out of everything) featured both accessories and apparel. Fans could get their hands on a bright pink and orange “ugly” Christmas sweater for a holiday party or gift a branded fanny pack or pack of scrunchies to a Gen Z family member. The store even featured a branded electric guitar. As brands seek to create more connections with modern youth, branded merch like this Dunkin’ holiday collection provides a relevant touchpoint, as well as a fun twist to its daily breakfast offerings.
Ranch stans will have a new way to display their obsession this holiday season with Hidden Valley’s new line of Christmas-themed apparel and accessories. This winter, snuggle up on the couch with Hidden Valley’s pillow and throw blanket or win your office's ugly Christmas sweater contest in their green holiday sweater that features—you guessed it—a big bottle of ranch dressing on the front. The line also offers a Hanukkah-themed sweater featuring a menorah topped with little ranch bottles. And for the ranch-obsessed loved ones in your life, give them the ranch-filled Christmas stocking to hang above their fireplace—it’s literally a plastic stocking filled with 52 fluid ounces of ranch dressing.
Oreo wants to keep you warm this winter in their new line of branded sweaters and sleepwear, available on Shinesty.com. The holiday collection features Oreo cookie, milk, penguin, polar bear, and snowflake designs and includes sweaters, pajamas, and onesies. The brand has also created a Double Stuf joke sweater for two (the sweater has one body but holes for two heads). Last year, Oreo debuted their holiday Oreo Ultimate Dunking Kit to great success, and the addition of this year’s holiday apparel collection is yet another way for the brand to get in on the holiday spirit—as well as branch out into the fashion and apparel vertical.
