Planning travel is easier than ever with these apps

Millennials are apt to prioritize their vacation time in order to travel, and they’re willing to make sacrifices to do so. With the help of the following travel apps, these youth—along with travelers of all ages—can now find the most affordable flights, hotels, and recommendations for their trips from the convenience of their smartphones.

Eddy Travels is an A.I.-powered travel assistant chatbot that offers users personalized travel suggestions. Users can send messages to the bot via platforms that include WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and Slack and receive flight, hotel, restaurant, and even travel insurance recommendations. The assistant is powered by machine learning and can understand voice and text messages. At the end of last year, Eddy Travels closed a $500,000 pre-seed funding round, which will bolster the app as it looks to expand into recommendation services for car rentals, accomodations and other travel-related experiences.

Millennials and Gen Zs can now indulge their spur-of-the-moment travel aspirations with the help of Welcome, a travel app that builds personalized itineraries based on a traveler’s interests. Users can consult Welcome as they’re planning their trips or once they’re already at their destination. Once opened, the location-aware and A.I.-powered app shares activities in the user’s area, which users can then indicate their interest in, ultimately creating a more personalized and engaging list of travel recommendations and reviews. Once a user’s interests are set, Welcome compiles a bespoke travel itinerary, complete with transportation options and the ability to adjust activities on the schedule throughout the day.

BlackBook, a new travel app that will launch in early 2020, is designed to eliminate the pain points that arise while booking hotels. The app boasts an inventory of over 1.82 million hotels online and is programmed to check over 9.5 million price points daily to give users the best hotel rates on its main booking platform. As BlackBook evolves down the line, the app aims to offer flight, insurance, ride-hailing, and restaurant recommendation options. The platform also incentivizes users to book hotels through the app via BB Coins, which are redeemable for future hotel stays or cash.
