Summer BBQ Fun

New Menus, Flavors, and Campaigns to Fire Up Your Grill Season

With Memorial Day Weekend ushering in the unofficial start of summer activities, BBQ feasts and flavors are top of mind. Whether you’re a fan of firing up the grill or just enjoy barbeque flavored snacks, there’s something for everyone this summer. Let’s see how brands are getting in on the BBQ fun:

SHAKE SHACK

Shake Shack has launched a limited-edition BBQ menu just in time for summer. The menu features barbeque versions of Shake Shack favorites, including a Smoky Classic BBQ Burger, Carolina BBQ Burger with Fried Pickles, BBQ Fries and BBQ Cheese Fries. The special summer menu launched nationwide on May 24 in time for Memorial Day Weekend, but early access was available through the Shack App starting on May 21.

PRINGLES

No cookout is complete without some chips to snack on. For a limited time this spring and summer, Pringles is shaking up their typical BBQ chip offering by adding a Texas BBQ Brisket-flavored chip. Dying to try it? You’ll have to head to a Korger’s to snag the flavor as it’s being sold exclusively at Kroger locations.

PEPSI

As grilling season ramps up, the goal of Pepsi’s new campaign “Grills Night Out” is to have consumers associate Pepsi with their favorite grilled foods. It includes a TV ad with celebrity chef Bobby Flay who is also featured in social content focusing on grilling tips. The campaign comes alongside two limited edition flavor releases, Pepsi Lime and Pepsi Peach. “Most people plan to grill more each year—it’s something they always want to do, but they don’t always get to as much as they want,” “And so we thought there’s a really fun way that Pepsi can play a role to evoke the joy of grilling and really instigate some more excitement around it all summer long,” said Todd Kaplan, Pepsi’s chief marketing officer.
