Young and Fearless

Meet the Youngest Olympians Shredding Their Way to History in Paris!

Among the thousands of athletes competing in Paris, a few stand out for their remarkable youth—and they just happen to be skateboarders (and women!). These young athletes aren't just competitors; they embody the spirit of youth, ambition, and the ever-changing landscape of the Olympic Games. As they gear up to hit the stage in Paris, their journeys will undoubtedly inspire many, proving that age is just a number when it comes to achieving greatness. Let’s take a closer look at three of the youngest Olympians who are making history this summer on their boards, and be sure to tune in on August 6th to see how they do!

ZHENG HAOHAO - 11 YEARS OLD

Leading the pack is Zheng Haohao, an incredible skateboarder from China. At just 11 years and 11 months, she is the youngest competitor at the Paris Olympics. Haohao has already made waves in the skateboarding community, having started her competitive journey just last year. Her perspective on competition is refreshingly innocent: “Competition to me is just to get together with my good friends. It’s like we are playing a fun game – everyone has to show the best they’ve got”. This youthful outlook could very well translate into a joyful performance on the world stage.

VAREERAYA SUKASEM - 12 YEARS OLD

Next up is Vareeraya Sukasem, a 12-year-old skateboarder representing Thailand. Vareeraya is part of a new generation of athletes who are pushing the boundaries of skateboarding, a sport that gained popularity in the Olympics during the Tokyo 2020 Games. Her participation not only showcases her talent but also highlights the growing presence of young athletes in extreme sports, which have become a staple of modern Olympic competition.

HEILI SIRVIO - 13 YEARS OLD

Finally, we have Heili Sirvio, who will become Finland's youngest Olympic athlete at the age of 13. She secured her spot on the Finnish skateboarding team after placing seventh in a qualifying event for the Women's Park event in Budapest earlier this year. Heili will compete on August 6 at Paris's Place de la Concord
