A GLIMPSE INTO THE TOBACCO PREVENTION LANDSCAPE
The battle against tobacco’s harmful grip on the world’s youth continues, with the flames of tobacco bans burning brighter than ever. In December the US FDA and US Customs announced the seizure of 1.4 million units of illegal e-cigarette products - valued at more than $18 million in retail sales. Many of these products are targeting America’s younger generations. While a complete federal ban on tobacco sales in the US remains a future target, the landscape is dotted with similar victories, thanks to tireless efforts from dedicated individuals and organizations. Awareness campaigns and influencers are keeping the flame alive to stamp out smoking and vaping.
INFLUENCERS LEADING THE CHARGE

Another influencer @kelly.lately, with close to 11k followers, offers similar support to younger generations looking to stop the habit using hashtags #quittingvaping or #quittingnicotine. The support and community these accounts create offer younger generations outlets and tools to make smart decisions.

OFFERING TRUTH TO OUR YOUTH
The Truth Initiative cuts through the haze of tobacco marketing with hard-hitting campaigns. Their "Truth" ads are designed to shatter the glamorized image of smoking and expose the industry's predatory tactics. They reach out to teens through social media, music, and interactive platforms, empowering them to resist the pressure to start smoking. The nonprofit recently organized a charitable gaming tournament - The Minecraft Creator Twitch tournament that united some of Minecraft's most popular creators and pro players to raise money for organizations like the Trevor Project.
